At the VDL House, Veronika Kellndorfer has installed freestanding glass sculptures that reflect the building’s stretches of mirrors and watery surfaces. These reflective glass screens, engraved with silkscreened images recorded by the artist, become integrated into space, generating images of the architecture into which they are incorporated. In analogy to Neutra’s fusing of natural environment and built form, the artist fragments elements of architectural and vegetal structures, placing them into new constellations banishing the hierarchical relationship between architectural modernity and nature in favor of an interplay between geometric and organic forms.
